Girls Rejected Me – So I Got Shredded

YEARS of anxiety-fuelled comfort eating led Mark to morbid obesity by the age of 21.
At his heaviest, he weighed 330 lbs and after ‘too many rejections’ from girls he decided to diet and exercise the pounds off. Mark, 38, of St Albans, dropped 112 lbs in 10 months, however, he did not tackle the root of the problem – his mental health. By the age of 28, the weight had crept back on after Mark turned to food and excessive drinking, telling himself he was not good enough.
With the help of therapy as well as a nutritional diet and exercise, he lost a total of 140lbs. Mark thought this would help him find love but the initial euphoria of being ‘shredded’ wore off. Mark now weighs 195 lbs and says he is living a more balanced life. He qualified as a personal trainer and life coach to help others on their fitness journeys. In May 2017 Mark met Zoë, 32, and the couple are now planning their wedding.
Rejection can impact a person’s self-esteem and confidence.
As human beings, we all experience rejection in our life at some point. Whether it comes from our colleagues, friends, or loved ones, rejection can be a devastating blow to our confidence and self-esteem. However, rejection can also motivate us to make positive changes in our lives, as is the case of the young man in this article who, after being rejected by girls, decided to get shredded.
Physical fitness and health are essential components of a healthy lifestyle. Not only does exercise benefit our physical health, but it also has a positive impact on our emotional and mental wellbeing. For some individuals, the drive to aesthetic perfection can be an additional factor to improve self-esteem and tackle life challenges. This is precisely what happened to the young man who decided to turn his disappointment into motivation.
The story of the young man began when he was struggling to form lasting relationships with girls. Despite his numerous attempts, he faced consistent rejections that started to take a toll on his morale. His self-esteem hit an all-time low, and he found himself unable to move on with his life. Instead of remaining in a sorry state, he decided to channel his negative emotions into an activity he had long overlooked – exercise.
Initially, his motivation was to get a revenge body, to disprove the notion that he was not good enough for women. However, as his physical transformation took shape, he began to develop a newfound sense of confidence and self-belief. The young man found that his exercise routine was an excellent outlet to vent his emotions, clear his mind, and lift his mood. The endorphins released during exercise had a positive impact on his mental state, helping him regain his focus and motivation.
The young man’s consistent determination, hard work, and dedication to his exercise regimen eventually paid off in a big way. He transformed his body into a lean, muscular figure, and his confidence grew exponentially. With his newfound positivity, he finally found success in his relationships, receiving acceptance from people who had once found it difficult to reciprocate his kindness.
In conclusion, the story of the young man who got shredded after being rejected by girls highlights the need to channel adverse emotions positively. We all go through struggles and setbacks in life, but our response determines our future. The young man’s story reminds us that sometimes, it is our lowest points that motivate us to make the most significant changes in our lives. The journey towards physical, emotional and mental wellbeing is never an easy one, but the rewards are well worth it.
