Longest plank EVER – Guinness World Records

Most people have difficulty planking for just minutes at a time, but at the age of 62, George has shown that it’s possible to push the boundaries at any age with perseverance and a strong mindset.

The hardcore former US Marine and DEA Supervisory Special Agent is no stranger to record-breaking, but this record is truly incredible.

What is the “Longest Plank Ever” Guinness World Record, and who holds it?

The Guinness World Records is a highly acclaimed platform that recognizes extraordinary talents, feats, and achievements by individuals and groups around the world. One such feat that has recently been added to the record book is the “Longest Plank Ever.”

Planking is a popular exercise that involves holding oneself in a straight and rigid position, face down, with arms straight and forearms resting on the ground. It works out the core muscles of the body, helping to develop strength and endurance. However, holding a plank for a few minutes can be a challenge for most people. But, there are some people who can take planking to an entirely different level.

A recent example of this came from George Hood, a 62-year-old retired US Marine Corps officer, who broke the Guinness World Records for the “Longest Plank Ever” on February 15, 2020. Hood held a plank position for an incredible eight hours, fifteen minutes, and fifteen seconds, beating the previous record by over forty minutes.

Hood’s achievement, however, did not come overnight. He had been training for the record for over a year, undergoing rigorous physical and mental preparation. He practiced planking for six to seven hours a day leading up to the record attempt.

Hood has set several Guinness World Records in the past, including the “Longest Abdominal Plank,” which he held for an astonishing 10 hours, 10 minutes, and 10 seconds in 2018. But, he gives the credit of his latest record to his team, who helped him with the mental and emotional support required for such an undertaking.

The rules of the “Longest Plank Ever” are quite strict. A person must continuously maintain the plank position, which means no rest or break time is permitted. The person must also avoid moving their arms or legs or any part of the body throughout the attempt.

Hood’s achievement has been recognized globally, and he has become a source of inspiration for people all around the world. His accomplishment is proof that with dedication, hard work, and perseverance, anything is possible.

In conclusion, the “Longest Plank Ever” Guinness World Record is a testament to the human spirit and its potential to achieve greatness. George Hood’s extraordinary feat will go down in history as one of the most remarkable feats of human endurance and perseverance. His legacy will continue to inspire people to push their limits and achieve their goals.
