ACTIVE day in my life | workouts, healthy food, getting things done
Living an active lifestyle is not just about running a marathon or spending hours in the gym. It is about making sure that you are giving your body the exercise and nourishment it needs to function optimally throughout the day. In this article, I will share my routine for an ACTIVE day in my life, focused on workouts, healthy food, and getting things done.
Morning Workout
I always start my day with a morning workout to give myself a boost of energy and set the tone for the day ahead. My go-to workout is a mix of strength training and cardio, which includes a few rounds of pushups, squats, lunges, and resistance band exercises to engage my whole body. Once I am done with the strength training, I follow up with a quick jog or sprint on the treadmill to get my heart rate up.
After an intense workout, I head straight to the kitchen to prepare myself a healthy breakfast. A nutrient-rich breakfast is essential to keep my energy levels up throughout the day. Breakfast for me usually includes oats, yogurt, and fresh fruits. I also like to add chia seeds, flaxseed, and nuts to my breakfast to add an extra punch of nutrition.
Getting Things Done
As I am a freelance writer, the middle of the day is when I sit down to work on my projects. I always start by making a prioritized to-do list, which helps me focus and stay on track. I make sure to take breaks every hour, walk around the house, and stretch to avoid staying sedentary for too long. I try to be as productive as possible on my workdays to minimize the number of hours I have to work the following day.
Afternoon Workout
After finishing my work projects for the day, I take a break to work out again. This time, I opt for more low-intensity exercises such as Pilates, stretching, or yoga. These workouts help me unwind and release any tension, making it easier to relax later in the evening.
Healthy Dinner
Dinner for me always includes a balance of protein, carbohydrates, and healthy fats. A good proportioned dinner is essential to ensure that I am fueling my body with everything it needs to rebuild and recover after the day’s activities. My favorite dinner includes a grilled salmon fillet, steamed vegetables, and a small serving of brown rice.
Relaxation Time
After dinner, I allow myself some relaxation time, usually with a good book, a movie, or hanging out with friends. This is instrumental in mental rejuvenation and stress management after a long day.
In conclusion, living an active lifestyle requires a combination of healthy habits, including eating nourishing foods, regular workouts, and time management. Incorporating these healthy habits into your daily routine will help you achieve optimal physical and mental health, reduce stress levels, and promote better sleeping habits.
